PENSION AND RETIREMENT BENEFITS SERVICES

Drawing from our experience in pensions and retirement benefits, we undertake drafting, reviewing and advising employers on their pension schemes’ trust deed and rules while giving legal advisory on employment and retirement benefits related issues when dealing with financial services providers in East Africa. These services range from actuarial, pensions, medical and insurance solutions by reviewing Provident and Pension Trust Sections’ Umbrella Scheme, Individual Scheme Pension Trusts Plan, and its client’s Occupational pension trust plans. We also give legal and compliance advice on contracting out of the state pension and obtaining pension backed mortgages.

We also undertake drafting custodial agreements, fund management agreements, administration agreements, reviewing investment strategies and providing legal opinions to trustees on pension related matters including but not limited to incorporating the guidelines issued by the Retirement Benefits Authority for the establishment, regulation and supervision of the management of post-retirement medical funds and the market conduct regulations among sponsors, trustees and service providers in the sector and to improve service delivery to members who are the consumers of retirement benefits products and services.
