Geoffrey is the Managing Partner and team leader at GMM Advocates.

Geoffrey is an acclaimed legal practitioner with knowledge and experience in commercial and corporate law. His expertise includes corporate structuring and financing, Mergers and Acquisitions, corporate legal audits, corporate governance and compliance, commercial contracts; Intellectual Property, Employment and Retirement Benefits law.

In his practice, Geoffrey has gathered experience in Real Estate and Property law and has acted as lead counsel to both local and international clients in real estate development transactions.

He is passionate about meeting and advising start-ups on the legal framework that supports their businesses, assisting them navigate through the often complex cross cutting legal issues. Geoffrey has worked and continues to work with renowned and leading multi-national corporations in various industries such as Construction, Energy services, e-commerce, media & advertising, finance, Private Equity among others. He has sat in several boards of directors both as a member and in an advisory capacity.

In addition to being an Advocate of the High Court, Geoffrey is a Certified Secretary (CS), a Certified Corporate Governance Auditor and is currently pursuing a program which will lead to certification as a Certified Investment & Financial Analyst (CIFA).

He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS).

Mbugua Antony possess over six years post-admission experience. As a seasoned Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Antony provides legal and strategic advice to clients in the banking, insurance, construction, medical institutions, SMEs and high net worth individuals. His main areas of expertise include commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation, debt recovery, professional negligence claims, litigious employment disputes, family disputes, land and environmental disputes, judicial review and public procurement disputes.

His rich knowledge in the law added to finesse negotiation skills allow him to provide top quality and client-tailored advice to clients in a timely and efficient manner. He represents his clients at the High Court and the Court of Appeal and in diverse tribunals across the Kenyan jurisdiction.

He is creative, strategic and always anticipates his adversaries’ arguments so that he can present a narrative that applies the facts and the law in a manner beneficial to his clients. He takes time to understand his clients’ issues and priorities so that his work can be tied to their desired outcome. Antony has a warm outgoing personality and a proven track record of providing outstanding service and results.

In addition to being an Advocate of the High Court, Antony is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA(K). He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

The GERMAN chamber of advocates within the circuit of the superior state court of Cologne admitted Nils to the lawyer’s bar in 2015 after passing the first legal state exam before Berlin authorities and the second exam before the Superior State Court of Koblenz (Rhineland – Palatinate STATE). In between the legal state exams he was assigned to Civil, Penal and Administrative Courts, Law Firms and the delegation of German industry and commerce in Nairobi in 2014 after which stint he formed a working relationship with partners of the Firm.

He is licensed to practice before all German courts on local, state and federal level and represents clients before all institutions of the European Union in civil and administrative Law matters. He has worked within German, Austrian, Dutch and Romanian jurisdictions within the EU.

Nils is a specialist in Continental Civil law with broad experience in Administrative Procedures on State and Federal Level, Legal Compliance, Contracts, and has good expertise in the Eu General Data Protection Regulation. He has significant experience in cross-border litigation and cross-border client representation. In addition Nils has consulted for law firms in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates and has also advised numerous clients from English speaking common law jurisdictions in high net worth and complex transactions.


Nils a member of the German Bar Association and authorized to practise law in the European Union.

He serves as a board member of the African Law Association Germany (GfAR e.V.), the young lawyer's committee of the Cologne club of advocates (KAV, with around 4,000 members) and the young guns section of The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI e.V.).
